Mechanical Drafter

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in drafting and design, utilizing advanced CAD software to create detailed schematics and system designs. This role is essential in supporting the development and documentation of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with ASME codes and standards.

Responsibilities

- Create detailed mechanical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, and other CAD software.

- Collaborate with engineers to develop system designs that meet project specifications.

- Utilize GD&T principles to ensure accuracy and clarity in technical documentation.

- Perform assembly drawings and 2D animations to visualize mechanical components.

- Conduct design reviews and provide technical writing support for project documentation.

- Apply knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to assess design integrity.

- Ensure all drafts comply with industry standards and best practices in mechanical engineering.

- Assist in the preparation of construction documents and specifications.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, and MicroStation.

- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and practices.

- Familiarity with GD&T, ASME codes & standards, and drafting techniques.

- Experience in system design, assembly processes, and construction documentation.

- Excellent technical writing skills for creating clear and concise documentation.

- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects efficiently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
