Job Summary

We’re looking for a skilled Drafter & CAD Designer to join our engineering team. This role is essential in producing accurate technical drawings that support our fabrication and construction operations. The ideal candidate combines precision, creativity, and a strong understanding of industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for steel tanks, structural components, and fabrication layouts

- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and shop personnel to ensure design accuracy and feasibility

- Revise drawings based on engineering changes, field conditions, or client specifications

- Create and maintain drawing documentation and standards

- Assist in preparing bills of materials (BOMs) and fabrication instructions

- Support CNC layout and programming for plasma cutting and forming equipment

- Ensure compliance with AWWA construction standards and applicable codes

Required Qualifications

- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D); SolidWorks or similar software experience is a plus

- 2+ years of drafting experience in industrial, structural, or mechanical design

- Strong understanding of steel fabrication, welding symbols, and construction drawings

- Good math skills, especially geometry and spatial reasoning

- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, production-driven environment

- Familiarity with AWWA (American Water Works Association) construction standards and codes

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively

- Associate degree or technical certification in drafting, engineering technology, or related field preferred
