- Create detailed 2D and 3D models of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and requirements to produce accurate and manufacturable designs
- Prepare comprehensive fabrication and assembly drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to resolve design issues and optimize designs for production
- Maintain drawing documentation and version control in accordance with company procedures
- Assist in the creation of bills of materials (BOM) and support procurement with accurate part details
- Participate in design reviews, providing input on manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
- Extensive experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software packages
- Experience with configuration control, design lifecycle, and product data management (PDM)
- Familiarity with machining of common aerospace materials and associated tolerances
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and demonstrated application of GD&T principles
- Experience working with large assemblies and configuration control
- Associates degree (AA) in a related field is a plus
- Experience with cable harness modeling and drafting is a plus
- Familiarity with PCBA documentation is a plus
