· Computer literate – comfortable with spreadsheets, order entry, and email, must have basic math skills.
· A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
· Strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail,
ability to learn quickly through self-guided education.
· Prior experience in purchasing, procurement, or vendor coordination
(especially in construction or trades) is a big plus.
· Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and terminology is helpful.
· The position demands some physical capability to receive, inspect and unload boxes and materials delivered weighing up to 50 lbs. safely and regularly.
· Maintaining cleanliness and order in the receiving and storage areas.
· Coordinate with Estimators, Project & Service Managers for material coordination
· Procure materials, supplies, and equipment needed for field and shop crews
· Process materials orders accurately and efficiently in our software system
· Hunt and source and compare vendor pricing, availability, and delivery schedules
· Maintain and build relationships with suppliers, ensuring consistent communication
· Negotiate prices and terms to ensure value and reliability
· Track orders and deliveries from start to finish, keeping everyone in the loop
· Keep organized records of purchases, quotes, and inventory levels and returns
· Support project managers and field teams with timely updates and material status
· Coordinate with Finance to reconcile vendor payment and return credits
· To help where needed as directed by the head of operations and may include activities beyond the role of a traditional material coordinator.
