JOB SUMMARY:
The Material Coordinator works in a hybrid capacity primarily in the field (mobile) with some office work, to support the overall success of the Company’s operations department thru execution of quality and timely material receiving, handling and tracking.
OUTCOMES:
•Improved Efficiency: Ensure that all materials are available when needed, reducing delays and keeping the program and project(s) on schedule
•Cost Savings: By managing inventory, help reduce material costs and avoid over-purchasing
•Enhanced Communication: Act as a liaison between owner, engineer and contractor, ensuring all stakeholders are aware of material statuses and any potential issues
•Quality Control: Monitor the quality of materials received, ensuring any damage is promptly reported and materials can be replaced or repaired before needed
•Risk Management: By anticipating material shortages and other potential issues, help mitigate
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
•Track the status of all materials throughout the procurement process for multiple projects simultaneously and report status as requested
•Maintain all order information in Principal Services (PS) Material Expediting and Receiving tools
•Attend weekly meetings with PS project management and client personnel and review material status for all projects
•Act as Point of Contact and coordinate material deliveries at client laydown yards and project sites
•Receives and inventories materials at all assigned laydown locations
•Reports materials received via Material Receiving Report (MRR) & Overage, Shortage & Damage (OS&D) forms
•Review and verify accuracy of all material invoices
•Initiates and administers Change of Custody (COC) process with contractor/end user
•Facilitate material logistics with client and contractors
•Maintains organization and performs regular housekeeping duties at all laydown locations
•Inventory all remaining materials at end of project and record quantities to be returned to client inventory

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to track information on multiple projects simultaneously
•High School Diploma or GED – Required
•Vocational or trade school training – Preferred
•3 years’ previous T&D material experience - Preferred
•Knowledge of Industry standard materials, tools and equipment – Required
•Additional Education/and or certifications and experience - Preferred
•Applied knowledge of standard materials, tools and equipment
•Use and care of Company and employee owned tools
•Application of basic mathematical skills
•Must work in an efficient manner (i.e. timely, neat, orderly and safe)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The noise level in the work environment is usually a quiet office environment although job site and customer visits may include extreme cold, extreme heat, dusty, dirty, loud environments that require walking on unstable ground and around large equipment. In the work environment the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions such as wet, humid conditions, ambient air, extreme temperatures, fumes or airborne particles, traffic, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually high.
•Assigned company vehicle will have telematics, to include front and rear facing cameras providing both coaching and accountability to support adherence to the PS driving policy.
