In addition, SGM outfits agriculture rigs and street sweepers with specific overhead heating and cooling solutions to meet rugged in-field conditions.
The Materials Coordinator supports daily production by keeping materials organized, stocked, and ready for use. This is a hands-on warehouse role focused on stocking, picking, staging/kitting, and moving materials to the right areas at the right time.
This position requires someone who can work with general direction, adjust to changing priorities, and communicate issues (shortages, damage, missing labels) without needing step-by-step instructions. Most of the work is on the floor; desk work is limited to basic inventory transactions and documentation.
- Pick, kit, and stage materials for production and orders based on priority.
- Stock incoming materials into assigned locations using standard labeling and storage methods.
- Deliver materials to work centers and help keep line-side areas supplied.
- Verify basic details during picking/staging (part number, quantity, revision/lot info when applicable).
- Operate company vehicles to support intercompany transfer of materials between shops/facilities, as business needs required
- Move materials between areas/shops as needed to support workflow.
- Assist with receiving/put-away tasks when needed (labeling, moving to inspection/quarantine/stock).
- Identify and report shortages, damaged materials, and location issues to the supervisor
- Perform basic inventory transactions in the system (issue, transfer, receive) as trained.
- Operate material handling equipment safely (e.g., pallet jack, cart systems, forklifts—if trained/certified).
- Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and material handling procedures.
- Participate in audits and compliance efforts by maintaining orderly inventory locations and accurate documentation.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Follow all company vehicle safety policies, including safe driving practices, load securement, and documentation requirements.
- 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.- Comfort working on your feet in a fast-paced production environment with shifting priorities.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn ERP/MRP/inventory systems.
