About This Job

Material Sciences Corporation is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Master Buyer / Scheduler to support production operations at our Elk Grove Village, IL facility. This role is critical in executing production plans, coordinating material purchases, and ensuring timely scheduling of manufacturing lines. The ideal candidate will bring purchasing and scheduling expertise, especially within a manufacturing environment that utilizes paints, chemicals, films, and metals.

Primary Responsibilities:

•

Create and maintain work orders and production schedules for coating lines and slitters

•

Coordinate with manufacturing to ensure optimal execution of the production plan and capacity utilization

•

Monitor demand and issue purchase orders for paints, adhesives, films, and related materials

•

Track purchase orders and reconcile any discrepancies with Accounts Payable, shipping, and suppliers

•

Maintain and update the production performance database (daily, monthly, YTD reporting)

•

Support Purchasing with inventory tracking, on-time delivery (OTD), and supplier performance evaluations

Qualifications:

•

Some college coursework preferred

•

Minimum 3 years of experience in Purchasing and/or Production Control

•

Manufacturing experience is required

•

Prior exposure to materials such as paints, chemicals, films, and metals is strongly preferred

•

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

•

Excellent communication and coordination abilities

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
