Are you a professional with a passion for clean energy and data-driven solutions? W e currently have an opening for a Market Integration Specialist. Coordinate and partner with all GRE divisions, focused on projects to maximize distribution-level energy and capacity hedging resources which will complement GRE’s Power Supply portfolio. Provide leadership and guidance to GRE’s member-owners who present new assets to be considered for operational benefit and registration opportunity. Support the registration and participation of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) markets, ensuring that DERs, including solar, storage, demand response, and electric vehicles are properly registered and integrated into MISO’s energy markets and capacity constructs. Leverage experience and knowledge in energy market operations, regulatory compliance, DER technologies, and MISO’s market rules and processes.
A typical starting range for this position is $113,000 - $155,000 annually. We offer market competitive base pay and adjust our offer accordingly based on the value of the candidate’s knowledge, skills and experience. Responsibilities: Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to
· Manage the end-to-end registration and integration of distributed energy resources (DERs) into MISO markets, ensuring compliance with technical, operational, and regulatory requirements.
· Collaborate with GRE divisions, member-owners, MISO, and other external partners to identify and implement the most effective market participation pathways for DERs.
· Support regulatory advocacy and provide expertise on MISO market rules, performance standards, and evolving participation structures, including FERC Order 2222.
· Design and implement new processes, protocols, and tools to support scalable DER registration, operations, and long-term program success.
· Partner with GRE member-owners to align project goals and DER registration value; oversee cross-department planning, scheduling, and delivery of new DER applications.
· Use business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to track project milestones, analyze DER performance, and ensure accurate data reporting for market operations.
· Knowledge is typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, energy management, economics, or another technology-focused field/equivalent related field.
· 5+ years of experience in energy markets, DER integration, or technical project management.
· Demonstrated knowledge with MISO market operations, regulatory compliance, and DER registration processes.
· Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Visio, and distributed energy technology platform.
· PMP certification, advanced technical degree, or experience with FERC Order 2222 preferred.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
· Deep understanding of DER technologies and their operational/market value.
· Project management skills with the ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives.
· Familiarity with utility operations, regulatory environments, and wholesale market dynamics.
· Experience using business intelligence and collaboration tools (Microsoft 365, Power BI, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
· Self-driven with a collaborative mindset and the ability to adapt in a fast-changing energy landscape.
