As a Manufacturing Accountant, you'll ensure accurate financial reporting and boost efficiency in our manufacturing operations. Your responsibilities include preparing precise financial statements, analyzing production costs, and optimizing operational expenses. You'll collaborate with management to develop budgets, monitor performance, and provide strategic insights. Upholding compliance and internal controls, you'll mitigate financial risks and safeguard company assets. Through cross-functional teamwork, you'll align financial goals with operational strategies, contributing directly to our company's success in the manufacturing sector.
- Manage and oversee cost accounting processes for manufacturing operations, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing expenses against budget and forecast, providing insights to management on cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinate with production and purchasing teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of inventory transactions and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Prepare month-end closing activities related to manufacturing, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Participate in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes related to manufacturing costs and expenses.
- Assist in the implementation and enhancement of accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform all duties assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or CPA qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in manufacturing accounting or cost accounting.
- Experience with ERP systems and familiarity with manufacturing operations.
- CPA certification (preferred but not required).
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for occasional travel).
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively across various departments.
