Fabrication Shop Looking for a Manual Machinist Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, sets up and operates manually controlled in skilled precision for fabrication, maintenance, repair, machine parts, tools and equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities- Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
- Reads and interprets blueprints.
- Uses gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
- Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, push and pull broaches and a variety of other cutting tools and equipment
- Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling
- Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
- Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructionsQualifications * Must have a general knowledge of the quality, machine-ability, and uses of metals, alloys and other materials.
- Five years related experience
- Effectively communicates and understands job instructions both verbally and written in the English language. Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane and to lift up to 50 lbs. when required.
- CNC mill & lathe work experience is a PLUS++Job Types: Full-time 4 x 10, ( 1x 7 OT if needed )
- Manual Mill & Lathe: 5 years (Required)
- drawing/blueprint reading: 5 years (Required)
- CNC mill & lathe operating: 2 years (Preferred)
- forklift: 1 year (Preferred)
- basic math: 5 years (Required)
- Precision measuring instruments: 5 years (Required)
