Manual Machinist, General Maintenance and Repair Technician - Not Operator
- Manual Lathe, Grinding, Rebuilding of Used Mechanical Assemblies
- Attention to detail is a strong MUST
- Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
- Able to review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output
- Planning and/or following the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
- Taking precise measurements and marking material for cutting or shaping
- Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job
- Determine and set speed of machine with proper tooling/supplies, etc.
- Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues
- Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damage
- Proven experience as machinist - not just operator - and attention to detail
- Experience in using and/or programming manual machines, and manual and power hand tools (lathes, hand grinders, drills, etc.)
- Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
- Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
- Good math skills with analytical abilities
