We are looking to add a

Manager – Product Quality & Test

to our Engineering team in Vancouver, Canada. We’re seeking a hands-on leader who has experience ensuring product quality at the intersection of hardware and software. Someone who can develop a compelling vision for product quality and scale the capabilities of our current team. You’ll bring a strong understanding of both system-level testing and the realities of delivering rugged, reliable field-deployed products.


Job Responsibilities:

Product Quality & Test

Define and lead a strategic vision for product quality across hardware and software.

Establish and improve QA methodologies, workflows, and metrics appropriate for a complex electro-mechanical system.
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure quality is considered throughout the design and development process.
Expand the team's capabilities across test strategy, automation, integration testing, and release readiness.
Develop and manage a roadmap for test infrastructure and automation in support of continuous improvement.
Advocate for product quality in design reviews, validation plans, and field issue resolution.
Own test planning and execution, including both manual and automated strategies.
Evaluate and introduce appropriate tools, technologies, and techniques to support both software and hardware testing.
Stay current on industry best practices and bring forward recommendations to mature the organization’s QA discipline.
Additional duties as required.


People Leadership

Acts as a champion of company values by promoting and integrating them into daily operations, employee engagement, and organizational initiatives.
Coaches and mentors existing team members to reach their fullest potential within PQT.
Conducts performance evaluations and identifies top performers / persons needing support.
Builds trusted relationships, by actively listening and delivering fair and honest feedback.
Collaborates with the HR/Talent Team on recruitment strategies, participates in attracting new talent and the entire employee life cycle.
Implements strategies to effectively remove team member roadblocks, while advocating for team resources and technologies.
Oversees the development and execution of department specific programs to accelerate and maximize the effectiveness of new hires & existing team members.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a similar discipline is preferred.
6 to 8 or more years of experience in a QA or related role/industry, as well as 2 to 4 or more years in a people leadership role is preferred.
Background in building and scaling test/QA teams for ruggedized or industrial-grade products.
Experience defining and implementing QA strategy for systems deployed in harsh environments.
Strong understanding of software testing practices (manual and automated), especially in Linux.
Experience with hardware/system-level testing—including test planning, execution, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on scripting and test automation experience (Python, shell scripting, or similar).
Experience with test and defect tracking tools (Jira/Zephyr etc.)
Experience in Release Management
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Self-starter, ability to work independently and in teams.
Experience working in Microsoft 365.
Health & Safety conscious individual.
Legally able to work in Canada.


The salary offered to the successful candidate will be based on their experience, knowledge and skills they bring to MineSense, market data based on their location as well as internal equity. Keeping this mind, the salary offered can be outside of the range posted.
