The Manager/Director of Production and Facilities Engineering leads the Production and
Facilities Engineering Team that provides design, standards, analytics, project identification and
execution and continuous improvement in the Upstream and Midstream businesses. Supports
the facilities and production engineering components of Design, Execution and Operations
phases of the dCarbon Ventures (dCV) business. This role leads and/or works closely with
operations leadership, project managers, engineers, technicians, 3rd party vendors, data and IT
analysts, industry peers and partners to ensure cost-effective, efficient, safe, and timely
delivery of production and facility engineering services for Upstream, Midstream businesses
and components of the dCarbon Ventures business.
- Lead and manage a team of production and facility engineers and an engineering analyst to deliver on Upstream, Midstream and dCarbon Ventures business objectives.
- Identify and implement strategic initiatives to optimize production, reduce costs/capital, and improve efficiency.
- Work closely and collaboratively with operations and production field teams to optimize well performance, diagnose well problems and implement solutions, advise on artificial lift improvements, lower lease operating costs, oversee technical aspects of the production chemical program and achieve budgeted production targets.
- Develop long term artificial lift strategy in partnership with production operations team.
- Direct new well and refrac flowback methods, standards, cost reductions and interventions as appropriate.
- Oversee technical delivery of upstream, midstream, and carbon capture new facilities ensuring fit-for-purpose design and on-time, quality delivery while meeting budget.
- Provide engineering support for existing facilities in all businesses to increase reliability, asset integrity, and operational performance.
- Accountable for Prosper modeling, FEED, Detailed Engineering, PHAs, and technical support for commissioning of projects.
- Accountable for the workover and plugging programs identification and performance including developing yearly budgets, meeting program metrics and driving programmatic improvement.
- Lead the marginal well process to optimize cash flow from upstream assets and manage lease obligations.
Ensure lookbacks are conducted on key areas of responsibility (e.g., workover, facilities projects) with learnings shared and incorporated.
- Source and implement opportunities to use data to drive improvement in quality, timeliness, and efficiency of business decisions; develop or acquire tools required for such.
- Oversee development of opportunities to utilize artificial intelligence, machine learning, and large language models to make a business impact.
- Manage and mentor engineering staff, providing technical guidance and support.
- Coordinate the Production and Facilities Engineering function with other internal and external teams to maximize value to the organization.
- Oversee development of pipeline hydraulic models for internal midstream systems and manage 3rd party midstream technical relationships to ensure optimal gathering capacity and timely installation for upstream development programs. Build and refine fit-for-purpose processes to increase efficiency of technical and cross functional initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance for company-wide projects such as system upgrades and technology projects.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Strong technical background in upstream production and facilities engineering is of paramount importance. Midstream and CO2 surface facilities engineering experience is preferred.
- Deep experience with well performance and diagnostics, artificial lift, production optimization and lease operating cost reductions.
- Knowledge of production engineering inflow performance software/tools, as well as pipeline and process modeling tools.
- Business acumen, with cost/benefit approach and balance of cost, quality and project economics related to facilities.
- Understanding of industry codes and standards (ASME, NACE, API, ASTM, etc.).
- Working knowledge of federal (EPA) and state-level regulatory frameworks governing production and facility engineering and operations.
- Strong project management capabilities; able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering tools.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams, including performance management and development.

- Degree in Petroleum, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or similar engineering equivalent
- This position is located in Fort Worth, Texas at BKV’s field office.
- Some travel up to 15% may be required.
- Hybrid of indoor and outdoor working environments, including field operations, depending on assignment.
