JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Facilities Manager to oversee all aspects of our building operations, maintenance, and facility upgrades. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and have a proven track record managing technical teams, large-scale renovation projects, and complex building systems. This role involves direct oversight of technicians, architects, contractors, permitting processes, and service providers, ensuring that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and functionality.

LOCATION: Fremont, CA

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead, manage, and develop a team of facilities technicians, ensuring optimal performance and professional growth.

- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components.

- Plan and execute building upgrades, renovations, and new construction projects in collaboration with architects, engineers, and contractors.

- Coordinate and manage all permitting and compliance activities with local, state, and federal agencies.

- Negotiate and manage contracts with external facilities service providers (e.g., janitorial, landscaping, pest control, waste management).

- Develop and manage the facilities budget, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective operations.

- Establish and enforce safety protocols, emergency procedures, and preventative maintenance programs.

- Provide regular updates and reporting to senior management on project status, facility conditions, and risk mitigation strategies.

- Manage hazardous waste vendors and ensure compliance with all regulations concerning storage, transportation, and disposal, including maintenance of manifests and required documentation.

- Oversee lease and sublease obligations, including coordination with landlords and sublessors to ensure compliance and resolve any facility-related issues.

- Coordinate the disposition and responsible removal of obsolete or unused equipment in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).

- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Facilities Manager overseeing commercial or industrial properties.

- Strong leadership skills and experience managing cross-functional technical teams.

- Extensive experience managing capital improvement projects and coordinating with architects and contractors.

- In-depth knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, and environmental regulations.

- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.

- Proficiency in facilities management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
