Facilities Engineerbased in the
Calgary, Albertaoffice. Reporting to the Team Lead, Facilities, the Facilities Engineer will be responsible for designing, constructing, inspecting, and maintaining oil and gas facilities according to regulatory and industry standards. The incumbent will be expected to manage and execute facilities projects following applicable regulatory legislation, CSA standards, and industry codes of practice.
Some specific duties, and responsibilities of the Facilities Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the engineering, design, and construction of new well equips and tie-ins, as well as the execution of facility infrastructure projects
- Day-to-day facilities engineering and operational support
- Ensure technical compliance on all Saturn facility designs, as well as adherence to sound engineering practices, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Propose and run economic analysis on new capital project opportunities
- Generate cost estimates and AFEs on new projects
- Identify and review opportunities for optimization in cost and safety
- Collaborate on with project team members to ensure alignment on scope and schedule
- Assist with the development of internal procedures and processes to further improve the delivery of facility project execution
- Evaluate new facilities technology and cost reduction initiatives applicable to operations
- Travel to various field locations as necessary.
Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with a minimum of 8 years of facility engineering experience in the oil and gas industry
- Well-rounded and extensive knowledge of oil & gas production operations
- Exceptional project management skills including scope development, execution, cost control, and safety
- In-depth knowledge of relevant and applicable technical regulations and standards
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively, prioritize activities, and work in a team-based environment to achieve desired results
- Excellent computer and analytical ability, combined with strong written and oral communication skills.
