Manager of Development and Training
ROLE:
The Manager of Development and Training role is responsible for planning, directing, or coordinating the training and development activities and staff of an organization. This role is also responsible for operating as an organizational leader and an internal consultant to management in the identification, development, and implementation of career and developmental activities and programs. This person will regularly interact with plant trainers and plant personnel in Waupaca and remote locations.
A successful Manager of Development and Training must be a strong supporter of the company’s values and principles. They must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
•Identifies training and development needs by analyzing organizational results, job requirements, operational problems, plans and forecasts, and current training programs.
•Plan, develop, and provide technical training and staff development programs, using methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
•Satisfies training and development needs by researching, designing, or purchasing training programs and media, and introducing new trends in training and development.
•Presents training and development programs by identifying learning objectives.
•Evaluates training and development effectiveness by assessing trainee performance; counseling managers and employees regarding future training and work restructuring, and providing recommendations for improvement.
•Achieves financial objectives by preparing the training and development budget; scheduling expenditures; approving educational requests; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
•Completes training requirements by scheduling and assigning trainees and instructors.
•Evaluate program effectiveness.
•In accordance with company goals, must adhere to high standards of performance for self and crew.
•Coordinates special events or programs.
•Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
•Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline preferred.
•5 years progressive experience in HR or Organizational development field.
•Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
•Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
•Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
•Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
•Demonstrates general knowledge of operations as they relate to human resource activities.
•Leadership development training
•Familiarity with Kaizen training
•Facilitation of certification programs as necessary.
•A working knowledge of the ISO/TS standards and customer requirements is necessary.
•iSeries, Lotus Notes, Office products, SAP, SharePoint experience preferred.
