Responsibilities
Basic Purpose
Establishes and implements business objectives and plans pertinent to NV Energy’s Natural Disaster Protection Plan (NDPP). Develops and manages internal and external reporting of compliance activities related to the NDPP to ensure compliance obligations are met. Serves as primary point of contact on day-to-day compliance matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Assists in the development, initiation, and maintenance of plans, policy and procedures for the management and operation of the NDPP compliance programs and related activities in accordance with 704.7985 regulations. Oversees company-wide processes, procedures and controls related to these compliance programs, working with management across the organization to ensure regulation compliance requirements are met.
•Develops and maintains compliance monitoring that includes developing testing plans, documenting findings, and generating management reports. Conducts internal reviews and monitoring of business operations including compliance controls, assessments and documentation. Recommends changes to minimize risk and ensures compliance with regulation requirements. Provides guidance to business units and compliance leads in their development and implementation of corrective action plans to resolve potential concerns and enhance compliance.
•Administers and tracks compliance reviews and risk assessments to evaluate compliance with regulations Including periodic self-certifications. self-reports, external audits by third-party agencies and internal audits to support overall attestation of compliance. Develops and implements corrective action plans for resolution of potential concerns and enhancement of compliance. Coordinates audits and investigations with Public Utility Commission of Nevada (PUCN) and other third-party agencies.
•Remains current on trends, new and proposed laws and regulations, personnel policies, industry programs and practices and advises appropriate personnel of legal, compliance, and financial impacts. Monitors, research, and identifies emerging or changing regulatory compliance requirements affecting or potentially affecting company. Responds to various compliance related questions from business units and provides guidance regarding which recesses and controls are needed to meet compliance obligations. Assists management, and subject matter experts to create auditable documentation, policies, and procedures.
•Oversees the development of process documentation and training to implement existing or new NDPP programs and ensure timely and quality delivery of plan elements. Coordinates and reviews content for all compliance-related training. Responsible for tracking of employee training.
•Monitors and enforces all compliance requirements for area of responsibility.
•Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes, and regulations applicable to position and company.

Requirements
Essential Education, Skills, and Environment (example below)Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in engineering, finance, accounting, business or a related field and seven years utility or other equivalent experience in engineering, operations, finance, program/project management, or business planning.
Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 11 years of utility or other equivalent experience in engineering, operations, finance, program/project management, or business planning.
Specialized Knowledge and SkillsDemonstrated knowledge of:* Regulatory regulations, requirements and compliance obligations.
•Regulatory associations/commissions and related policies, orders and reporting requirements.
•Conducting and documenting internal review of business processes and transactions and investigations with a high level of confidentiality.
•The company's natural disaster protection plan, regulatory and political environment, as well as the company's policies, procedures and practices, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Demonstrated skills such as:* The ability to initiate and establish objectives, develop and execute policy, direct and prioritize resources, and recommend and oversee development or implementation of systems, programs, or processes.
•Leadership and teamwork skills to negotiate with and influence peers and senior officers on policy.
•Strong technical writing skills including proposal generation, policy creation, and plan development.
•Assessing, designing, structuring and implementing compliance initiative.
•Track record of delivery skills
•Analytical, interpersonal and communication.

Compensation
Annual Salary: $119,400 (Min) to $140,400 (Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
