Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Manager, Finance to oversee the controlling and business partnering activities for Europe. This role is critical to ensuring financial integrity, supporting strategic initiatives, driving performance, ensure compliance with local regulations, corporate policies and partnering with business leaders to deliver results.
Key Accountabilities
Working in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations:
Controllership Activities
•Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, completeness and compliance with GAAP.
•Oversee financial reporting, general ledger management, Balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and journal entries.
•Ensure strong internal controls are maintained and continuously tested and improved.
•Ensure compliance with local regulations, statutory filings and oversee local GAAP converted financial reporting.
•Support external audits and co ordinate tax compliance activities with local and global teams
Business Partnering
•Act as a finance business partner to Project directors, VP, Sales and operations.
•Lead strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, and scenario planning.
•Prepare and present timely, value adding financial insights sophisticated dashboards and presentations explaining key areas, variances and other elements needing management attention.
•Prepare and maintain regular project financial reports, including project budgets, forecasts, actuals, and variances.
•Review project performance with project owners, identifying risks, cost overruns, and recommending corrective actions.
•Support project approvals by preparing financial assessments.
•Ensure accurate setup, maintenance and closure of project records in the ERP system
•Troubleshoot and resolve project data issues withing ERP, ensuring integrity.
•Support the Bid Management process (bid preparation, review and approval process);
•Support Ad hoc requests.
Leadership and Strategic Initiatives
•Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes, reporting and systems
•Partner with FP & A, treasury and shared services teams to align business unit operations with group policies and objectives.
Qualifications
•Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
•CPA designation or equivalent required
•4-6 years of accounting, external reporting and external audit experience is preferred
•Experience conducting technical accounting analysis under both IFRS and US GAAP, including researching and analyzing accounting issues, and implementing new accounting policies or updating current accounting policies to comply with technical accounting developments;
•A results-oriented focus is essential, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment and effectively manage several projects simultaneously;
•Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence and communicate effectively across the company and externally at all levels;
•Sense of urgency and decision-making skills conducive to managing priorities and meeting internal and external timelines;
•Aptitude for leadership, management experience; were effectively led, influenced, and motivated a team of accounting / external reporting resources would be an asset;
•Sound judgment, attention to detail, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities; Ability to prioritize
•Proficient with the use of information technology tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel;
•Experience in using Dynamics 365 and Power BI would be an asset;
