About the Role
As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, human resources, and compliance.
This is a 100% hands-on position in a small company environment. Self-reliance, resourcefulness and ability to multi-task will be critical. Candidates must be comfortable in a small, busy office with limited staff. A willingness to learn our systems, procedures and processes and the ability to help refine, document and improve them is necessary. This is a demanding but rewarding role that reports directly to the owner. The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar position for a small company and/or have been previously self-employed.
Responsibilities
•Overseeing Accounting Operations: Managing all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
•Financial Reporting: Preparing and publishing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, etc.).
•Compliance: Ensuring that the company's accounting practices comply with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant regulations.
•Budgeting and Forecasting: Developing and managing budgets, preparing financial forecasts, and analyzing financial performance.
•Internal Controls: Establishing and maintaining internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
•Human Resources: Hiring, onboarding, offboarding, training, and supervising staff. Coordinate employee benefits. Create and update company policies and employee handbook. Manage periodic employee review program. Participate in recruiting key personnel. Review and respond to UIA requests.
•Payroll: Review and audit time & attendance and PTO bank for accuracy and compliance. Bi-weekly payroll runs. Quarterly and annual payroll and 401K reporting and filings. Compile reports for CEO.
•Insurance: Review, manage and update company insurance policies including liability, vehicle, and worker’s comp. Respond to customer requests for insurance data.
•Credit & Collections: Review, adapt and manage company’s credit granting procedures. Regular review of receivables and manage collections from past due accounts.
•Tax Compliance: Preparing data for tax returns and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
•Audit Support: Collaborating with external auditors and ensuring the company meets audit requirements.
•Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
•Policy Development: Developing and implementing efficient accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
•At least 10 years’ experience in a similar position
•Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection
•Strong knowledge of US GAAP
•Cost accounting experience
•SYSPRO ERP experience is a plus
•Good planning and organizational skills
•Strong analytical skills
•Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines
•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
•Ability to effectively communicate with management, public groups, peers and staff.
•Ability to build relationships with colleagues, staff, customers and vendors.
•Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization
•Ability to lead and motivate teams to reach a common goal

•Experience in manufacturing business (machining and small assembly)
•Ability to handle a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
