The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on machinery and equipment used in the facility. This role ensures the smooth operation of production equipment, minimizes downtime, and supports the overall maintenance program to ensure the safety and efficiency of the facility. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with production teams to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, conduct preventive maintenance, and assist with facility improvements.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machines and equipment, including inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of parts.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems issues. Perform repairs and adjustments as needed to keep machinery and equipment operating efficiently.
- Assist in the setup and calibration of machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance during production runs. Make necessary adjustments to machinery to maintain product quality.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and production stoppages in a timely manner to minimize downtime. Effectively troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment to restore production quickly.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including service reports, work orders, and inventory usage. Track maintenance schedules and notify supervisors when equipment maintenance is due.
- Assist with the installation of new equipment, modifications, or upgrades to existing systems. Provide support for machine and process improvement projects.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures when performing maintenance tasks. Ensure that equipment operates in compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Report any unsafe conditions or practices to management.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and quality control teams to address equipment issues, improve production processes, and ensure machine uptime.
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, including lighting, HVAC, and general infrastructure repairs as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and equipment, particularly in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping, work order management, and inventory tracking.
- Good communication skills to effectively report issues and collaborate with team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a manufacturing environment (aerospace or precision manufacturing experience is a plus).
- Experience with CNC machines, automated equipment, and other industrial machinery is desirable.
- Knowledge of safety standards, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to stand, kneel, or crouch for extended periods when performing maintenance tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry materials or parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for using tools and repairing equipment.
- Comfortable working in a variety of environments, including production floors, machine rooms, and outdoor areas (if applicable).
- Ability to work in an environment with varying noise levels, temperature fluctuations, and potential exposure to machinery and chemicals.
- Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces when performing repairs or maintenance tasks.
