Material Sciences Corporation is seeking a Customer Service Assistant/Admin for our Elk Grove facility. This position is responsible for managing customer accounts, coordinating orders from initiation through completion, and ensuring clear communication and exceptional service throughout the production and delivery process.
Material Sciences Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Elk Grove facility. This position is responsible for maintaining, servicing, repairing, rebuilding, and recommending enhancements for existing machinery and support equipment. The role involves both mechanical and electrical work, including assembly, installation, and troubleshooting of equipment components.
The Maintenance Technician works in a self-directed team environment under the general supervision of the Maintenance Lead Person, Maintenance Manager, or Production Supervisor.
Pay Structure: First 8 hours paid at regular hourly rate, remaining 4 hours per shift paid as overtime, after 40 hours paid as overtime.
Maintains, services, repairs, rebuilds and recommends enhancement and improvements for existing machinery and support equipment. Assembles builds, and installs modifications or new components; work is primarily of a mechanical or fitting nature.
Works in a self-directed teamwork environment under the general direction and supervision of the Maintenance Lead Person, Maintenance Manager, or Production Supervisor.
May use computers, small hand tools, welders, torches, mechanical and electrical testing and measuring equipment, lathe, drill press, grinders, portable power tools, pipe fitting and plumbing tools, etc.
- Studies and interprets construction, mechanical or electrical blueprints, drawings, sketches and manufacturer manuals to install new equipment, modify existing equipment, or troubleshoot mechanical or electrical problems; plans and determines working procedures, tool and material requirements, and maintains equipment files and service documentation.
- Corrects defective mechanical devices and other equipment by disassembling, installing new parts, welding or re-fitting; may have to contact manufacturer or distributor, and/or direct contracted or outside service personnel.
- Uses electric and acetylene welding equipment in making repairs, welds various types of metals.
- Installs air, water, and gas lines: repairs and maintains plumbing.
- Repairs and maintains lift trucks and various pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
- Troubleshoots and repairs basic AC and DC motor control systems.
- Obtains work assignments, work order, and instructions from Maintenance Lead Person, Maintenance Manager, or Production Supervisor
- May serve as a Roll Grinder.
- Responsible for housekeeping in shop area and work sites.
- Actively participates in quality improvement process.
- Minimum High School graduate or equivalent. Additional technical education and Certified Journeyman preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of Maintenance Mechanic experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in the metal coil coating industry.
- Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shifts.
- Must be able to interpret blueprints and sketches.
- Must be able to operate machine shop tools proficiently.
- Must be proficient in brazing, cutting and all position acetylene and arc welding including high pressure hydraulic pipe welding.
- Must be capable of routing black pipe and hydraulic tubing.
- Must be skilled in electrical, hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
- Must have working knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Industrial Electrical experience highly preferred
