About This Job

Responsibilities:

•

General Handyman responsibilities to assist with work orders for turnovers and renovations.

•

Install appliances, such stoves, refrigerators, microwaves, toilets, etc.

•

Remove and reinstall fixtures (e.g. – doorknobs, electric switch cover) as necessary.

•

Review and implement work orders and assignments.

•

Complete general maintenance for homes and apartments.

•

Repair and/or paint doors, windows, walls, ceilings, roofs and other parts of the building.

•

Assemble scaffolding as required/needed.

•

Cover floors, furniture and other surfaces with drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep free from dust/debris.

•

Prepare surfaces to be painted by filling holes and cracks and sanding them until smooth.

•

Apply primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them.

•

Touch up paint, stain and/or other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers, or sprayers.

•

Maintain an inventory of supplies like hand tools, material, tarps, etc.

•

Clean machines, equipment, tools, and work areas using water, solvents, and other cleaning aids.

•

Ensure mechanical equipment is in working order and fixed as necessary.

•

Follow safeguards, rules, and regulations.

Requirements and Skills:

•

High school diploma or GED.

•

Valid driver's license.

•

A minimum, two (2) years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician.

•

Proven handman and general construction experience.

•

Sound knowledge of business ordinances.

•

The ability to lift heavy materials and tools.

•

The ability to use powered hand tools.

•

Excellent communication skills.

•

Exceptional customer service skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
