The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair of various equipment (panel benders, presses, CNC laser machines, pin spotters, shears, etc.), machines and building factors. It’s preferred that this position assist with developing and maintaining processes for preventive and predictive maintenance on all equipment at each of the 4 facilities located at McDaniel Metals, LLC.
Shift: 2nd shift (2:30 pm – 3 am)
McDaniel Metals, LLC specializes in fabricating aftermarket HVAC components using sheet metal and a variety of equipment such as CNC Lasers, Panel Benders, Automated Coil lines, CNC Press Brakes, Spot Welders, etc. We maintain a combined manufacturing facility of 160,846 sq. ft.; featuring 4 facilities.
We are looking for a technician with a minimum of 3 years industrial maintenance experience. This candidate must be efficient in the following:
· Must wear personal protective equipment and follow all safety guidelines such as and not limited to LOTO (LOCK OUT TAG OUT)
· Communicate with the various departments to maintain a productive and satisfying work environment;
· Documentation of work schedule and work tasks completed
· Performs mechanical and electrical problem solving and assists with all aspects of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
· Perform daily ongoing preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and record in CMMS Program
· Responds to emergency work orders/calls in a timely manner;
· Inspect equipment and notify management of any hazards or defects;
· Maintain building repair needs: facility plumbing, lighting, sheet rock repair etc.
· Read blueprints and mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical schematics;
· Install, disassemble, troubleshoot, and maintain all manners of mechanical and electrical components
· Use computer systems to perform diagnostics on electronic components and PLC system;
· Uses appropriate tools, such as multi meter, ampere meter, hand and power tools, etc.
The Maintenance Technician will be required to possess the following:
· Must be able to work in varying temperatures and climates (outdoors/warehouse)
· Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
· Working at heights of 10 feet or greater, operating lifting devices, and entering confined spaces
· Must be able to sufficiently read, write, and speak English due to the safety sensitivity of this role.
· At least six (6) years of relevant electrical and mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment
· Must have the physical ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs
· Must be reliable and have great attention to detail
· Must have CLEAN valid Class C driver’s license and be able to travel to various property sites on a regular basis. (Transportation provided by McDaniel Metals)
· Ability to follow electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systems
· Experience reading technical drawings, mechanical, electrical & pneumatic schematics and product manuals
· Ability to effectively diagnose machine electrical and mechanical system malfunctions and concisely detail root cause(s) of malfunctions
· Must be able to use analog and digital multimeters
· Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., VFD, starters, fuses, contacts, relays)
The Maintenance Technician is expected to use all preventative measures to ensure the upkeep of various machinery and inspect finished projects for quality assurance while maintaining a clean and safe working environment for all employees.
