Environmental Systems Service, Ltd. (ESS) is currently seeking a full time Maintenance Technician to support wastewater facilities on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Must have at least 1 year of experience in water/wastewater maintenance, industrial maintenance, or other related field such as mechanical, plumbing, controls, or electrical.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
· Provide lubrication of blowers, pumps, and moving parts in accordance with manufacturer.
· Replace belts, change air filters preventatively or as needed.
· Replace electric motors, submersible pumps, or other machinery as needed.
· Replace electrical components such as relays, starters, switches, timers, floats, etc.
· Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment for excessive wear or defects and proper operation.
· Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
· Must adhere to company and safety standards for maintaining equipment.
· Must obtain and stay current on assigned safety training.
· Must be able to read electrical control diagrams.
· Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment,
and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
· Operation of hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment.
· Operation of a company vehicle and maintain a good driving record.
· Other duties and/or projects may be assigned.
Must be able to work independently, attentive to detail, closely follow written and oral instructions, and have the ability to lift 50 pounds. An excellent driving record is required – Must provide current DMV record at interview. Submit salary requirements with resume and/or employment application.
