As a Maintenance Technician, you are the cornerstone of our operational efficiency, responsible for the upkeep and reliability of equipment across the production floor, warehouse, and office area. - Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift
- Rotation: 2 days on, 2 days off, followed by 3 days on, 3 days off.
- This structured rotation provides extended periods off, promoting work-life balance.
- Prioritize and Troubleshoot: Swiftly prioritize breakdowns based on production input and collaboratively troubleshoot complex equipment problems with production personnel.
- Repair & Optimize: Repair/replace extrusion process line equipment as needed to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Preventive Maintenance (PM): Execute thorough preventive maintenance inspections and service on all machines.
- Diagnose & Escalate: Thoroughly diagnose and repair all equipment in a timely manner, promptly elevating complex repairs to the Maintenance Manager when required time exceeds the allotted window.
- System Upkeep: Perform tasks such as cleaning machines, removing and reinstalling parts, and oiling/lubricating moving components to ensure effective performance.
- Documentation: Ensure all work orders are completed in a timely fashion, accurately accounting for all parts used. Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts.
- Shop Management: Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies, adhering to 5S principles.
- Project Collaboration: Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance.
- New Product Integration: Collaborate with the Production Manager or Plant Engineer on new product additions, making necessary modifications, running test trials, and making additional machinery alterations as required.
- Electrical Systems: Understand electrical diagrams and possess diagnostic capability with electrical wiring ranging from 12 VDC to 480 VAC.
- Controls: Proven experience with PLCs, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and relay-based logic.
- Multidisciplinary Skill: Demonstrated multidiscipline mechanical, electrical, and HVAC skills and the proven ability to quickly learn new processes and equipment.
- Problem-Solving: Mechanically inclined with great diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns.
- Communication: Effective observation, planning, writing, reading, basic math, problem-solving, and prioritizing skills. Good communication skills are essential for cross-departmental collaboration.
- Computer Proficiency: Proficient computer skills to efficiently receive/close work orders and manage technical manuals, notes, and documents.
- Independence & Teamwork: Ability to work well independently during the night shift while also functioning effectively with others as a committed team member.
- Work Ethic: Organized with excellent attention to detail, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment AND 3-5 years’ experience in a maintenance environment, both with a verifiable track record of improvements.
- Education: Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
