This position is responsible for Operations and Maintenance of Alabama Power owned facilities and assets. Responsibilities include the repair and preventive maintenance for building infrastructure, grounds, access control systems, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, etc. needed to provide safe and productive work environments. This technician will need to be self-motivated and be able to operate and work within the most critical areas and operate equipment that serves these areas. This job will be located at the APCO Corporate Head Quarters in Birmingham AL.
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Current State of Alabama HVAC License Required
- The maintenance technician position requires general experience & knowledge in HVAC & Controls, Electrical, and/or Plumbing
- Commercial /industrial electrical maintenance, repair, and installation
- Electronic and pneumatic controls, equipment and systems maintenance, repair, and installation
- Hydraulic equipment and systems maintenance, repair, and installation
- HVAC systems maintenance, repair, and installation
- Codes, i.e., NEC, OSHA, Building and Plumbing
- Required and contingent for the position within first 60 days of employment: NERC CIP Certification
- Maintain, repair, modify and install equipment and systems to maintain a comfortable environment for customers.
- Perform general inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with national/local codes and regulations, to provide a safe, reliable work environment.
- Maintain/clean equipment rooms, related equipment, and panels.
- Maintain facility systems, HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing. (Chillers, Pumps etc.…)
