Job Description
Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician provides support to Facilities Manager with the upkeep of equipment, buildings and grounds. Has the ability to complete tasks in facility on multiple levels such as office, grounds, equipment, vehicles and considered to be a jack-of-all-trades with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures hydraulic systems, electrical and mechanical rebuilds.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems
- Ensure the grounds, exterior building and landscaping are well maintained for a positive first impression
- Maintains the facility including plumbing, and facility electrical (high and low voltage)
- Support the manufacturing shop with preventive maintenance on overhead cranes, welding power supplies, and sub-arc welding systems
- Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Inspect building equipment and systems to identify any issues
- Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard
- All other tasks as assignedSkills and Qualifications:
- Proven maintenance experience
- High school Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing and mechanical voltage (120V-/240V/480V (3 Phases)
- Must be available to work on Saturdays
- Must provide own toolbox and locks
- Must wear personal protection equipment (PPE)
- Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of normal operating states of plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electrical systems and building fixtures
- Knowledge of and ability to operate, diagnose, and repair a wide variety of manufacturing equipment including but not limited to: cranes, welding machines, forklifts, brake press, rollers, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, gas and diesel fired engines, etc
- Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in English

Physical Requirements and other items to communicate:
Ability to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects. Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance. Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, push and pull equipment. Ability to move heavy materials and equipment. Crouches, kneels, stoops, reaches, and turns over for 90% of shift. Ability to recognize differences in sound generated by equipment or machinery, which may indicate operating problems or safety concerns. Work in a high-pace manufacturing environment, ability to multitask and prioritize workload by sharing workspace with interruptions from others.
