The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Support and Supply Person to join our Mechanical Team at T1. working on site in Thompson, Manitoba. This is a permanent position.

As a Maintenance Support and Supply Person you will order, organize, deliver and issue all supplies and tools required for maintenance trades people in the 4000-level garage. To assist trade workers in routing maintenance, repairs, and construction.

Additionally, in this position you will:

Order, organize, and deliver supplies, tools, and materials needed for maintenance activities; manage inventory and work closely with vendors and purchasing for part sourcing.

- Maintain the organization, cleanliness, and operational readiness of the tool crib, lube stations, garage, wash bay, and shop equipment.

- Operate a variety of equipment including overhead cranes, forklifts, personnel carriers, and specialized shop machinery.

- Assist tradespeople directly on site with repair, maintenance, equipment servicing, and construction tasks.

- Perform preventative maintenance on shop equipment and support safety by weighing and checking fire suppression systems and operating battery charging/load testing stations.

- Handle additional tasks such as painting equipment, making hydraulic hoses, and ensuring all work orders are properly received, processed, and closed out.

About You

Education:

- High school graduate

Experience

- Prior experience in a related field preferred

Skills:

- Proficient in operating and maintaining a wide range of tools and equipment, including hand tools, pressure washers, overhead cranes, and forklifts.

- Skilled in utilizing computers, software, and office equipment such as fax machines and printers for inventory and documentation purposes.

- Experienced in referencing parts catalogues and technical manuals to research and order maintenance supplies.

- Capable of safely handling specialized machinery, including pipe threading machines, band saws, scissor lifts, and oxygen/acetylene torches.
