Description
Entry level position within the Maintenance Department. Will learn basic maintenance skills by obtaining a broad background in safe work practices and trade skills in mechanical, electrical or instrumentation maintenance.

Minimum Requirements
- High School/Vocational School Diploma or equivalency certificate.
- General maintenance experience using hand and power tools preferred but not required.
- Must be available for emergencies and job assignments on a 24-hour basis.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and exercise sound, independent judgment.
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and representatives.
- Must demonstrate the ability to learn and retain technical information.
- Mechanical and/or problem-solving aptitude as well as computer literacy is preferred
Physical Demands:
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation to ensure the health and safety of oneself and others are maintained. Must qualify for and possess the ability to perform entry into confined spaces while wearing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as, but not limited to, canister and dust masks as well as SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus). Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, legs and the whole body such as climbing (including ladders), lifting up to 50 lbs., balancing, walking, stooping and handling heavy objects.
The expected base pay range is $41,315 to $64,851. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, education, training, and formal credentials.

Working Conditions:
Workers are employed in conditions associated with a wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection system and will be required to work indoors and outdoors.
