- Oversees and prioritizes preventative maintenance schedules
- Performs and directs preventative maintenance of machine and equipment
- Utilize advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical functionality to diagnoses problems and provide guidance on best course of action
- Creates requisitions for materials and supplies such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts & enters them in our Emaint software program
- Ensure all compliance documentation is up to date and document paperwork for record retention
- Inspects and tests machinery and equipment to ensure ideal operability
- Maintains and adjusts department priorities and schedule related to the maintenance of facility, including; painting, general structural, electrical, and mechanical
- Performs welding tasks related to repair of equipment and machinery
- Oversee maintenance department employees, acting as a mentor and trainer while managing performance
- Organizes and assists in projects to increase operations efficiency
- Performs Quality Assurance checks
- Collects and discards machine parts and other garbage to maintain machinery and work area
- Expected to maintain all company trained programs on safety, Lock Out Tag Out, hazard communication, blood borne pathogens, accident reporting, and other training
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Expected to maintain all company training
- 5 years of experience working on production/manufacturing equipment, forklifts, heavy equipment, and general machinery within the maintenance arena is required
- 5 years of experience in preventative maintenance and diagnostic of electrical and mechanical components/equipment is required
- Prior experience or certification in hydraulics, welding, PLC and electrical preferred
- Able to install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments according to specifications
- Knowledge of machines and tools, as well as their designs and uses
- Ability and willingness to read, comprehend, and follow directions, safety and procedures manuals, repair manuals and parts catalogs
- Basic math skills—adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing
- Ability to lead, mentor, train, and supervise others, as well as be teachable
- Able to communicate (verbally and in writing) equipment problems, safety issues, and/or quality issues to appropriate personnel using knowledge of the structure and content of the English language
- Sound judgment when troubleshooting to determine causes of machine malfunction and proper course of action
- Knowledge of various hand tools, measuring, and guidance devices
- Physically capable of exerting maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
- Able to see details from close range and far
- Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to push and pull weight of up to 30 pounds at chest level
- Requires lifting objects up to 50 pounds to waist height and carrying up to 4 feet unassisted on a frequent basis
- Ability to use a rotating motion of shoulder to lift and move items weighing up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis
- Must be able to bend, squat and/or crouch down using knee and hip movement frequently
- Frequent torso movement involving twisting, bending and/or stretching is performed
- Frequent reaching and stretching of arms below and above shoulder level
- Frequent head and neck motion in looking up, down and from side to side
- Using full body motion to climb in and out of forklifts
- Utilize manual dexterity of arms, elbows, wrists and fingers
- Ability to visually interpret multiple shades of colors
- Must be able to hear, speak and interpret sounds
- Work environment contains moving mechanical parts and is consistent with the standard manufacturing and/or warehousing environments
- Work may be performed near moderate to continuous loud noise
