We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician (309A) / Technologist
in the GTA. The successful candidate will be accountable to participate in annual Preventative Maintenance programs (Low, Medium, and High Voltage) within the GTA, occasionally working in more remote locations throughout Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following areas:
- Equipment upgrades as well as maintenance, testing and commissioning services for commercial, industrial and utility customers
- Infrared Scanning (IR) Scanning
- Transformer Oil Samples
- Routine Low, Medium, and High Voltage Maintenance during customer shutdowns
- Develop client relationships through client interface on site
- Identify service opportunities for clients and communicate them to Managers
- Ensure all equipment and materials are available for projects
- On site, hands-on work, as required
- Provide project status updates to Manager
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external groups regarding milestone achievements, costs, opportunities, etc.
- Escalate awareness of issues and concerns on projects within a timely manner to Manager
- Develop site strategy and adjust timelines
- Ensure leadership safety excellence is demonstrated onsite
- Responsible for site quality and document reviews
- Follow-up on deficiency work
- Ensure work is completed as per required scope
- Ensure documentation is completed and compiled
- Meet and review project execution with Manager
- Ensure completion and submission of all documents
- Complete technical reviews and generate reports
- Ensure all safety policies are adhered to at all times
- Participate in monthly safety meetings- 3+ years' experience as an Electrician (309A)
- Field Experience working as an Electrical Engineering Technologist / Electrical Engineering will be considered an asset
- Ability to travel 50%+- Hands-on field experience commissioning, testing or maintaining power delivery equipment, including breakers, switchgear, relays, transformers.
- Broad knowledge in commercial, industrial and utility environments
- Trade or tech school certification required
- 4th year or Journeyman Construction & Maintenance Electrician (309A)
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to self-manage with proven initiative and client focus
- Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a dynamic work environment
- Excellent time management skills with an attention to detail
- The ability to work flexible shifts, which include weekends, evenings and statutory holidays
- Ability to travel (up to 50% of the time)
- Team player with excellent communication skills both written and verbal
