The coordinator targets red u c in g mec h a n ical downt i me and e n su r ing equ i pment avai l ab il ity to meet product i on targets. The coordinator is t h e l iaiso n between Ma i ntena n ce execution and P l an ni ng, the Operat i o n s teams , and Re l iabi li ty fo r the safe execution of qual i ty wor k t hat a l igns w i t h the estab l i shed wo r k m anagement processes.
Main Accountabilities
- Coordinate and conduct regular workplace housekeeping audits and safety interactions within assigned areas;
- Create an environment that promotes teamwork, innovation and collaboration, and actively seeks feedback from other departments and employees for continuous improvement;
- Provide a balance between maintenance and production requirements and work to achieve them by understanding risks and opportunities weighed against potential value creation.
- Monitor the execution of the weekly schedule to meet operations and maintenance targets to ensure availability of equipment and work order completion attainment.
- Understand and apply the approved company maintenance work management system and ensuring compliance to planned and scheduled work orders;
- Audit and provide feedback on the quality of maintenance notifications and work orders to planning and maintenance execution teams;
- Liaison with Planning on non-emergency and break-in work order requests to ensure critical maintenance work is completed in a timely manner;
- Assists with the development, implementation and monitoring of new maintenance procedures, processes and technology;
- Liaison with Reliability to resolve chronic and repeat failures with equipment, provide status updates on maintenance efforts and gather feedback;
- Review reliability equipment strategies with reliability and works with planning for any updates to maintenance PM's;
- Oversee maintenance processes in order to reduce mechanical downtime;
- Liaison with Operations teams to provide solutions and day-to-day support to increase equipment uptime;
- Provide regular status reports to the operations and maintenance teams;
- Assist in the development of maintenance budgets, cost control & reporting;
- Supports the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives by coordinating required resources as required;
- Provides technical feedback when required to procurement, inventory and reliability;

Main Qualifications
- Interprovincial Red Seal Certificatio
- A college diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Technologist certificate is an asset
- Nunavut WSCC Supervisor and First Aid Certificates are assets
- Minimum five (5) years of fixed plant and/or mobile equipment maintenance experience in a mining or industrial setting
- Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Experience working in a remote Arctic operation with camp accommodations is an asset

Compensation
Compensation for this position is aligned with Baffinland’s approved compensation framework and current market conditions. Final compensation will be determined based on:
- Relevant education and certifications
- Related training and experience
- Internal equity considerations
This site-based role is eligible for participation in the travel benefits, site premiums, comprehensive health and dental coverage, and pension participation.
