Machine Float

Overview

METCOM Inc. in Cookeville, TN is seeking an experience machine operator for the position of Machine Float.

The Machine Float is responsible for setting up and operating various types of production equipment while meeting company quality and production standards. Essential functions include:

- Consistently perform as a top producer in both quality and quantity

- Maintain a high level of concentration with minimal distraction

- Produce quality parts in accordance with required blueprints and production standards

- Read, understand, and follow all work instructions, safety rules, and company policies

Hours

Monday-Thursday 5:50am-3:30pm

Friday 5:50am-9:50am

Qualifications

- Proven experience operating manufacturing machinery

- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly and effectively

- Ability to use precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers accurately for quality control purposes

- Hands-on experience with hand tools, welding techniques, tooling setup, and fabrication processes

- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments

- Warehouse experience or materials handling skills including forklift operation preferred

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
