The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the transportation and distribution of materials, goods, and products within Jedco’s operations. This role ensures the timely and efficient movement of materials between suppliers, manufacturing areas, and customers. The Logistics Coordinator will also coordinate with internal teams to maintain accurate inventory, optimize shipping and receiving processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished products to and from the manufacturing plant.
- Work closely with suppliers, vendors, and transportation providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.
- Track inventory levels and perform regular audits to ensure that all goods are properly accounted for.
- Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and delivery schedules, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Manage the scheduling of shipments to meet production requirements and customer delivery deadlines.
- Collaborate with the purchasing and production teams to ensure the proper flow of materials and components for manufacturing operations.
- Resolve issues related to delayed or damaged shipments and coordinate with suppliers and carriers to ensure timely resolution.
- Optimize transportation methods to reduce costs while maintaining quality and timeliness of deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities and generate reports as required by management.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards related to logistics operations.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective coordination with internal teams and external vendors.
- Proficiency with logistics software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in tracking shipments, inventory, and documentation.
- Problem-solving abilities to quickly address and resolve any logistics-related challenges.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and production schedules.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain coordination, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with aerospace industry standards and regulations is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. when handling materials or supplies.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to operate office equipment, including computers, printers, and phones.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent movement between departments and external vendors.
