As a Lease Operator / Production Technician, you will work in the field installing new infrastructure, maintaining existing production equipment, and diagnosing operational issues. You will play a key role in supporting safe operations, continuous improvement, and production reliability from the wellhead to the sales line.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain oil and gas production facilities and equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting
- Install and commission new wells, facilities, and production equipment
- Diagnose equipment failures and assist with root cause analysis
- Monitor production data and validate operating conditions in the field
- Coordinate and oversee contractor work to ensure safe execution
- Complete pre- and post-job reviews and post-construction checks
- Use mobile apps and systems to document work, enter data, and report conditions
- Collaborate with operations teams to improve processes and reduce non-desired outcomes
- Support a strong safety culture and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and climbing
- Repetitive use of hands, arms, shoulders, and torso
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Occasional use of power tools, computers, and mobile devices
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on field experience
- Ability to communicate clearly with remote teams using phone, video, and digital tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Willingness to work outdoors in changing conditions
- Basic understanding of oil and gas production systems
- Experience as a Lease Operator, Production Operator, or similar role
- Oil & gas, industrial, or manufacturing background
- Technical school certificate or degree
- Electrical and mechanical experience
- Working knowledge of artificial lift systems (plunger lift, pumping units, compression)
- Experience managing contractors
- Comfort using mobile apps, databases, and digital reporting tools
- Growth mindset with the ability to learn new technology and processes quickly
