ABOUT THE ROLE:

PRT is seeking a Full time Forest Nursery Leadhand to be based in Cottage Grove, OR at PRT Cottage Grove. In addition to involvement in the day-to-day operations associated with container seedling production, this position will require the Nursery Leadhand to lead a team of English and Spanish Nursery Workers. The Leadhand will be accountable for production employee training, evaluation, task assignment, assisting in shipping and receiving, timesheet data reconciliation, and data collection while adhering to the occupational health and safety standards. Key Accountabilities Of The Leadhand

Assist the Nursery Manager with planning and achieving production targets

Enforce safe work practices

Train new employees for various nursery worker positions

Keep neat and accurate records

Encourage innovation and continuous improvement

Promote collaboration and teamwork at all levels

Set targets (i.e., production, timelines) and evaluate achievement

About The Team

The Leadhand will lead a team of workers under the supervision and management of a Nursery Manager.
