Job Summary:
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Lead Logistics Laborer to join our team. This hands-on position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and secure loading of all trailers, shipments, and deliveries related to our daily installation and shipping schedules. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess strong communication and leadership skills, and be committed to ensuring each project is executed with precision and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
•Monitor and track the daily installation schedule to stay informed of all projects scheduled for installation, shipping, or delivery.
•Fully understand the scope and specific details of each project to ensure proper handling and loading of materials.
•Strategically visualize and execute the most efficient, safe, and secure method to load each trailer or shipment, considering weight distribution and protection of finished goods.
•Work closely with production leaders to understand item readiness and departmental release timing.
•Review and utilize load lists to verify each load is accurate and complete.
•Drive trailers and deliver products throughout New England and beyond as needed, while maintaining professional conduct and compliance with all driving regulations.
•Properly crate, secure, and protect products for shipping using advanced carpentry skills, tools, and materials appropriate for sign products or custom fabrications.
•Lead the loading team with clear direction, accountability, and ownership of the process.
•Maintain all required project paperwork, ensuring accuracy and traceability, including load verification, delivery receipts, and incident reports when necessary.
•Assist in inventory staging and labeling when necessary to support load readiness.
•Adapt quickly to changing schedules and priorities with flexibility and a positive attitude, ensuring minimal delays in project timelines.
Job Requirements:
•Skilled carpentry abilities for crating and secure load preparation.
•Proven experience in logistics, shipping, or similar roles.
Ability to drive and maneuver trailers safely; valid driver's license required (DOT Medical Card preferred). DOT Medical Card will be required, once hired.
•Strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments, including the ability to train and mentor junior laborers or loaders.
•High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
•Ability to read and interpret project plans, load lists, and schedules.
•Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings or extended shifts, to support scheduling needs, as well as occasional weekend travel if required.
•Positive, team-oriented mindset with a strong desire to succeed and contribute to company goals.
•Responsible for safely unloading trailers, properly disposing of unneeded materials, and ensuring all trailers are cleared of items and debris at the end of each shift or delivery.
•Knowledge of and ability to safely operate overhead chainfalls, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment essential for secure and successful loading and unloading of product.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
•Adequate computer skills to successfully utilize the company’s cloud-based ERP system, as well as Microsoft Suite platforms.

Work Environment:
This position primarily operates in a warehouse and loading dock environment, with occasional off-site work during deliveries. The role routinely requires exposure to moving mechanical parts, power tools, forklifts, and commercial trailers. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
