Lead Custodian

The Lead Custodian will be responsible for coordinating the general upkeep support for all department buildings and offices by ensuring daily cleaning maintenance of the work environment for all staff and visitors on-site.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

- Knows, understands, and follows all Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements.

- Coordinating the cleaning of building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.

- Gather and empty trash from all offices and department buildings

- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.

- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.

- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using cleaning chemicals

- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.

- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.

- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

- Train and supervise contracted personnel on cleaning responsibilities

- Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies

- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.

- Request supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

- Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.

- Performs other duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

- Hi gh s chool diploma or equivalent

- Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, verbally and in writing.

- Must be able to walk long distances and stand and work for more than 2 hours in tough environmental conditions (high temperature, high humidity, noise, & dust), lift 50 Lbs. and withstand heights of up to 500 feet. Pre-employment physical is required
