Job Description

A Lead Communications Technician will lead crews in completing data and fiber optic installations. As part of the day-to-day responsibilities, you will:

•

Perform site walk-throughs and assist the estimating team in putting together proposals for customers.

•

Read and understand plans and specifications and work directly with a customer representative to eliminate omissions or inconsistencies.

•

Plan for and direct crews in pulling, termination, and testing horizontal data cables.

•

Ensure a standards-based installation of communications rooms in new and existing spaces through Q&A and /or hands-on training.

•

Install, terminate, splice, and test fiber optic cables.

•

Assist in preparing as built and closeout materials including test results and labeling schemes.

•

Perform Job Site Audits to ensure the proper use of tools and equipment according to company and OSHA safety procedures.

•

Work in commercial, healthcare, and industrial environments.

•

Supervise and train communications technicians, installers, and/or apprentices under your direction.

Qualifications

•

Must have a current BICSI certification or be willing to complete within the first 12 months.

•

4+ years of experience recommended.

•

Own your own hand tools.

•

Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screening.
