A Day in the Life: Local Work, Real Impact
You start the day reviewing a new tract assignment in Amherst County, VA — a mineral title run back to sovereignty. You fire up your tools: county courthouse records, online databases, and your deed index references. By mid-morning, you’ve traced surface ownership to the 1940s and identified a mineral reservation that requires further research.
After lunch, you’re cross-checking a leasehold interest in Campbell County, VA against production records and flagging a potential defect tied to an unprobated estate. You note the break in chain, draft a curative comment, and update your abstract and flowchart.
Later, you QC a run sheet, double-check a metes-and-bounds legal description, and upload the completed file to the project portal before heading to the next courthouse assignment. Whether in Appomattox, Charlotte, or Buckingham County, every document tells a story — and you make sure it’s accurate and complete.
