Landman

GENERAL DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

OWS is seeking an experienced and motivated Landman to assist our Land Team in managing our existing leasehold portfolio and to pursue opportunities within our existing asset area. Responsibilities include:

o Acquiring leasehold rights, and seek out trades, farm-ins and farmouts with operators to

optimize land holdings; perform other A&D duties as necessary.

o Managing and direct land brokers and contractors to run title, acquire oil and gas leases,

prepare run sheets and aid in curing title deficiencies.

o Managing Non-OP well proposals and elections.

o Preparing, negotiating and reviewing assignments, leases, letter agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and other land related contracts.

o Assisting the land department with monitoring and maintaining existing leasehold obligations.

o This position is on site, Monday through Friday, at our office in Louisville, Ohio.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

· EXPERIENCE:

o Minimum 5 years of oil and gas landman or title work in the Appalachian Basin.

o Minimum 2 years of in-house land experience working with contracts, leases and title.

o Previous negotiating experience.

o Working knowledge of oil and gas GIS programs.

o Excellent interpersonal skills and written/verbal communication skills.

o Highly organized individual with ability to prioritize and manage projects through completion

o Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· AAPL membership

· Juris Doctorate Degree

· Experience in the Utica Shale

Pay: $55,000.00 - $86,000.00 per year
