Job Overview:
The Judicial Collections Manager is responsible for the following:
- Monitoring and negotiating the collection of overdue accounts
- Filing liens, judgements, satisfactions, and other documents with the courts
- Attending court hearings related to delinquent customer accounts
- Working with outside third-party collection agencies employed by Heller’s Gas
- The candidate must possess considerable skills in communication, organization, problem solving, critical thinking and sound judgment
- Initiate collections-related correspondence with customers regarding past-due balances
- Educate customers on account status, alternate payment plans, and consequences of failure to pay
- Perform pre-filing research for legal and court documents
- File necessary documentation to seek liens and judgements against substantially overdue accounts
- Attend court hearings to represent the company in regards to delinquent customer accounts and other such matters
- Monitor pay status of accounts to satisfy open liens or judgements and file letters of satisfaction once paid in full
- Communicate with courts regarding open cases and coordinate all aspects of legal process
- Coordinate with outside third-party collection agency and monitor/reconcile recoveries
- Evaluate and submit accounts for write-off as considered necessary
- Develop and maintain tracking and filing system
- Coordinate with accounts receivable and credit/collection departments
- Implement policy and procedure regarding collection practices
- Prepare reports for management as considered necessary
- Act as a representative of the company with a sound knowledge of legal process, policy and procedure
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree preferred but not required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
- Employment is conditional on verification of clean driving record, background check(s), and pre-employment/random drug testing

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment and requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers/scanners

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position and regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the ability to work outside of or in addition to those hours as needed
Travel:
Travel expectation is approximately 25%
