Unit Electric, located in Okanagan Falls, BC is seeking experienced and dependable Journeyperson Welders to join our fabrication team. Reporting to the Lead Hand, this role involves working in a fast paced environment where teamwork and adherence to quality standards are essential. This position is part of the United Steel Workers bargaining unit and is subject to the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
This is not a fly in/fly out position. You would have to relocate to the Penticton area.

- Repair and fabrication of custom prototypes from supplied drawings.
- Fabrication of custom jigs, fixtures and metal structures.
- Welding according to pre-set parameters using MIG, ARC and TIG welding processes.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW),
- Operate Plasma equipment, metal shaping and bending machines.
- Read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.
- Operate overhead cranes.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a welder preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Journeyperson Certificate.
- Valid welding certification, Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) preferred.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Able to work overtime and afternoon shift as required.
