THE JOB
The IT Technician is responsible for providing timely and effective resolutions to technical problems related to IT-serviced computer and phone operations. This role includes troubleshooting technical issues, guiding users through issue resolution, communicating technical solutions in a user-friendly language, and conducting end-user training when necessary. The IT Technician is responsible for carrying out the following key responsibilities:
•Monitor IT ticket dashboard and review Hy-Tech emails.
•Identify ergonomic issues, and present potential solutions for review to IT Manager.
•Provide end user training and mentoring in effective use of technology and best practices for corporate and personal information security.
•Complete new hire and transitioning employee setup checklist to ensure that employees have the IT equipment they require to do their job effectively.
•Complete offboarding when employees leave.
•Complete maintenance, document maintenance, and update inventory records of various IT equipment (laptops, tablets, phones, satellite, etc.).
•Set up IT equipment required onsite to meet job specific needs.
•Program and perform maintenance of the phone system.
•Perform maintenance on printers and scanners.
•Install firewalls and routers.
•Install and maintain CCTV cameras. Program entry access and provide end user training.
•Install and maintain GPS units on drill equipment and work vehicles. Set and maintain the parameters for GPS notifications.
•Assist with Mobile Device Management (MDM) System.

THE SETTING
This position is based out of the Branch Location in Saskatoon, SK. Office work environment with some travel required.
THE SCHEDULE
Standard working hours are 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday. There will also be some requirements to be available after hours and on weekends during busy times.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
•1-2 years of experience in an IT support capacity.
•Diploma in Information Technology Applied Systems is preferred.
•Basic knowledge of networking, operating systems, and server architecture.
•Experience with 365 Azure and MS Office.
•Experience with cyber security software.
•Ability to thrive in a challenging and fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities.
