GVEC is looking to hire you for the position of IT Support Analyst Intern to deliver the unexpected with a willingness to continuously develop yourself, your department, and our organization. As anIT Support Analyst Intern, you will help provide essential end-user technical support across GVEC’s diverse technology environment, gaining hands-on experience with hardware, software, and systems that power our operations. The IT Support Analyst Intern will work alongside our experienced IT Support team to troubleshoot issues, deploy devices, and ensure our employees have the tools they need to serve our communities effectively.
The minimum starting pay for this role is $18/hr. Pay will be determined by skills, qualifications and experience.
- Provide first-level technical support to end users via phone, email, teams and in-person assistance
- Assist with laptop and mobile device deployments, including domain joining, software installation and asset management
- Support troubleshooting of Windows 10/11 workstations, iPads, iPhones and other enterprise devices
- Help maintain accurate IT asset inventory and documentation in our service management system
- Assist with software license management and user account provisioning across multiple platforms
- Support end users with common software applications, including Microsoft Office 365, Adobe products and business-specific tools
- Participate in hardware setup and configuration for new employee onboarding
- Document support tickets with detailed notes on issues and resolutions
- Collaborate with IT team members on projects related to system improvements and technology rollouts
- Assist with VMware Horizon virtual desktop support and connectivity issues
- Help troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including WiFi, cellular and VPN access
- Support the IT team with ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and troubleshooting principles
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information clearly and confidently
- Effective problem-solving skills, capable of troubleshooting minor issues independently
- Ability to effectively evaluate and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Self-motivation, a strong work ethic and impeccable integrity
- A team player open to constructive criticism to help evolve the team
- Customer service mindset with patience and professionalism when assisting end users
- Ability to lift items such as desktop computers, monitors, and equipment up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to learn new technologies and systems quickly
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and connectivity troubleshooting
- Prior internship or work experience in IT support or help desk environment
- Familiarity with Jira Service Management or similar ticketing systems
- Experience with mobile device management (MDM) platforms
- Knowledge of Active Directory and user account management
- Understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware
- Experience with Apple iOS devices (iPads, iPhones) in enterprise environments
- CompTIA A+ certification or working toward IT certifications- Exposure to enterprise software license management
- Experience with PowerShell or other scripting basics
