Maintain and improve inventory control processes through material labeling, storage identification, consolidation and other means to maintain accuracy and accessibility of all raw, work in process material and finished goods. Execute the daily activities to maintain the required flow of materials to meet production requirements, the shipment of goods to customers and manage the refurbished reel process from incoming receipts to outgoing shipments.
· Inspect, label and store incoming goods and ensure it is organized and accessible.
· Respond to request for material movements in a timely manner.
· Use overhead cranes to move material and load/unload trucks.
· Be flexible to stay over until trucks are unloaded.
· Ensure shop floor and outside storage areas are neat and orderly.
· Maintains clean and safe work site by removing scrap, sweeping and disposing of hazardous materials, following safety rules and procedures and wearing personal protective equipment.
· Returns necessary items to storage by loading, moving and unloading items.
· Load or lead Material Handler for outgoing shipments onto trucks for customer delivery
· Confirm with quality inspector goods are ready to ship.
· Ensure paperwork for incoming and outgoing goods are correct and turned in.
· Verifying quantity, specifications, and measurements of incoming material by using general tools, such as tape measure, metal gauge and caliper.
· Maintains a cycle count program and complete required counts.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in training.
· Performs/leads yearly inventory as approved by Plant Manager
· Other duties may assigned by Plant Manager
· Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects using proper lifting and handling techniques. Use various material handling equipment and measuring tools.
· Ability to work independently and perform at high level
· Operates a variety of light equipment and hand tools.
· Perform equipment operation and other maintenance tasks according to established safety and risk management practices. This includes properly using an overhead crane.
· Follow Company Policies and Safety Standards, this includes OSHA and MSDS standards.
· Must know how to read and interpret instructions, Highly organized, dependable, reliable and trustworthy.
· Be available to a flexible work schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
· Performs other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.
