Description:
The purpose of this position is to requisition, receive, stock, and issue inventory supplies and coordinate the flow of material to support WaterOne operations. This position performs duties related to sending, receiving, and delivering U.S. Mail and other packages internally and externally.

Pay Range: $25.67hr to $38.51/hr
Essential Functions

•Prepares purchase requisitions for materials using framework order vendors whenever possible.
•Monitors material usage by reviewing inventory reports and making spot inventory checks with the goal of keeping inventory between the established minimum and maximum levels.
•Issues materials to and receives returned materials from internal and external customers.
•Recommends the following: adjustments to minimum and maximum inventory levels, new materials that could become inventory items, inventory items that could become non-inventory.
•Receives materials from vendors in all types of weather conditions including: unloading trucks, inspecting materials for damage, checking for correct amount shipped, completing necessary goods receipt, and storing material appropriately.
•Issues out and receives returned fire hydrant meters.
•Completes monthly cycle counting of inventory.
•Receives, sorts, and delivers all interoffice mail, U.S. Mail, and other packages between all WaterOne facilities.
•Folds, inserts, applies postage and sends U.S. Mail from WaterOne to external parties.
•Maintains strong working relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
•Maintain and repair mail equipment.
Other Duties
•When assigned, perform the duties of the Acting Foreman.
•Assists with training Inventory Control Specialists on all material handling equipment and other pertinent subjects in conjunction with efforts of the Foreman and other resources.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Skills & Experience
•High school graduate or have a GED.
•Ability to operate material handling equipment.
•Good written and verbal communication skills and be a good listener.
•Full knowledge of applicable occupational hazards and safety precautions and have a strong commitment to complying with all applicable safety requirements.
•Proficient with personal computers, including experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
•Well-organized and able to work on multiple assignments concurrently.
•Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
•Demonstrated use sound judgment and excellent decision-making skills.
•Ability to maintain good relationships with WaterOne employees, suppliers, vendors, and transportation personnel.
•Possess a valid driver’s license and continuously meet WaterOne driving standards.
•Must pass post offer medical exam, including drug screen and background verification (may not apply to current employees).
Preferred Education, Skills & Experience
•Knowledge of methods, tools, equipment, and techniques used in the installation and maintenance of water mains, valves, fire hydrants, service connections and appurtenances.
•Knowledge of warehousing, material handling methods and an understanding of how WaterOne material is used.
•Experience with a water utility or with materials related to plumbing.
•Experience with barcoding or automated material tracking processes.
•Experience with inventory management system software.
•Inventory and/or warehouse certifications as well as involvement with local trade organizations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally lift/or move up to 100 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and 20 pounds constantly. The employee must be able to use a computer for multiple hours a day. The employee must be able to move occasionally from one location to another or be able to remain in a stationary position for up to several hours a day. The employee must be able to use office productivity equipment such as a personal computer, calculator, printer, and copy machine. The employee must be in possession of a licenses and be able to operate a vehicle at any given time. The employee must be able to occasionally position self be able to place or retrieve items in a warehouse.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, fumes, toxic chemicals, and heat. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
