Intermediate Structural Engineer

We are seeking a Intermediate Structural Engineer

, based out of our Toronto or Montreal office.

To carry out the discipline engineering functions which includes and not limited to:

- Perform engineering calculations, analysis, designs and sketches for steel and concrete,

- Liaise and co-ordinate with design team to ensure accurate 3D and 2D deliverables.

- Reporting on progress and budget for design work

- Site inspections and investigations

Responsibilities

Design Engineering

- Perform engineering calculations, analysis and design using governing codes and standards to be fit for purpose

- Produce engineering reports and plans

- Provide drawings and/or sketches for designs to be incorporated in drawings by 3D modelers and drafters

- Research design options through trade-off studies

- Review, signoff and stamping of Issued for Construction drawings

- Provide input into Engineering Design Criteria

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

Design Integration

- Integrate vendor information into design process

- Integration of design information between disciplines and specialist consultants

Design Management

- Carry out site investigations and field tests as and when required and report findings.

- Manage the schedule (time), cost and scope on all design components on the project (discipline-specific tracking sheets).

- Providing discipline-specific inputs into Change Management process.

- Ensure Quality standards (Industry, DRA, Client, best practice) are adhered to.

Communications

- Liaise and co-ordinate with the client, project manager and engineers of other disciplines to ensure adherence to project and client requirements and specifications

- Written and spoken communications should be in a respectful and professional manner

- Keeping CSA team informed and up to date on status of technical design aspects of the project.

- Communicate design lessons learnt

Requirements:

- Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

- Professional Engineering Registration.

- Minimum 7+ years of Structural Steel Design.

- Knowledge of Static and Dynamic structural design using latest 3D software –SAP2000, STAAD or ROBOT.
