AT WESTLAND - Westland Resources works throughout Northwest BC on diverse natural resource management projects in the Energy, Environmental, Forestry, and Infrastructure fields. For over 20 years our services have included strategic, tactical and operational advice; research and assessments; fish and wildlife restoration projects; environmental permitting; environmental monitoring and auditing; economic and community development; and all-round problem solving. Our clients include First Nations, energy corporations, forest licensees, infrastructure developers, stewardship groups and all levels of government.
RESPONSIBILITIES - The Intermediate/Senior Environmental Professional will:
- Manage and conduct environmental monitoring for an array of development projects in relation to fish and wildlife
- Lead and conduct fish and wildlife restoration projects
- Lead and conduct stewardship projects
- Lead and conduct environmental assessments, environmental management plans, and all related reporting and permitting
- Oversee environmental data collection and associated reporting
- Develop, mentor and manage junior staff and support senior managers
- Build client capacity
- Well-rounded with solid experience in fish and wildlife related projects, ideally with 3 or more years of experience, and have a technical diploma or a Bachelor of Science degree
- Registered, or able to register, with the BC College of Applied Biology or another regulatory body that entitles you to be a qualified professional
- Experienced with report writing and competent in Microsoft Office™ applications
- Knowledgeable about environmental law and experienced with environmental permit preparation and processes
- Team-oriented self-starter looking for diversity and career growth
- Quick and adaptive learner that enjoys working in the natural environment
- Open and positive with clients and government agencies
Assets would include - electrofishing certificate; swiftwater rescue certificate; first aid; familiar with the use of off-road vehicles.
