Become an Integrated Major Project Development, Senior Engineer at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be part of the Integrated Major Project Development team responsible for sponsoring major transmission utility projects and leading different aspects of technical/engineering efforts such as developing scope, schedule and costs, while looking for synergies and opportunities for project cross-cutting to maximize value. Coordinating and performing technical analyses for transmission level projects, you’ll drive multiple aspects during licensing and construction to streamline and optimize SCE resources. Responsibilities

- Oversees engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and reviewing grid technologies, building relationships to facilitate cross-functional knowledge transfer of related work groups

- Leads the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders

- Collaborate and lead with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development, integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies

- Assists in a variety of engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including development of innovative procedures and design recommendations

- Provides support for new equipment installation and startup, then leads the hand over processes to the ramp and sustaining phases

- Leads junior engineers in investigation of threats on the distribution system infrastructure based on observations and findings

- Gathers and correlates basic data using engineering studies and procedures, which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems

- Facilitates training and professional development opportunities for engineering team members to enhance their skills and knowledge

- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.


Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field.

- Seven or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.

- Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.


Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline

- Experience developing and delivering technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Experience collaborating with regional transmission organizations (e.g., CAISO, ERCOT), regulatory agencies (e.g., FERC, NERC).

- Experience supporting the development of testimony for regulatory proceedings and environmental licensing.

- Engineering experience related to modeling and performing power system analyses on distribution and transmission systems

- Experience in utility industry, with a focus in distribution and transmission planning, grid interconnection, power system infrastructure related to substations and/or design of those facilities.

- Experience in project management, including strategic planning, budgeting, and execution of large-scale projects.


Additional Information

- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- The primary work location for this position is Pomona, CA. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at an alternate work location.

- Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

- This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.

- Relocation does not apply to this position.
